Reviews
We came here via recommendation from a friend who lives in San Jose. Before that, we always take grocery trips to 99 Ranch markets, in any store of the are we’re close at the time.
This store was mediocre. There’s produce area, meat area, dry products, canned goods, and beverages. There’s no bakery or hot food deli area though.
It’s like Vietnamese market with some mixup from Spanish. There’s 3 languages there: Vietnamese, English and Spanish.
What we found good about Lion market was they have a variety of vegetables that is familiar with Chinese and Vietnamese cuisine. However, you cannot store them for long periods. For example, I bought some bean sprouts but they became rotten pretty quick. All of them. The result, I threw them all. The same goes for other veggies. Some has starting to have rotten parts.
The meat was okay, but some have questioning color. Thus, I only bought 2 packs of meat.
I found some Vietnamese products that has sales promotion, cheaper than other supermarket brands, but some products are higher.
The worst part was they don’t accept Apple Pay or Tap. We have to use physical cards. That’s okay if the swiping function works.
When we paid, the swiping function wasn’t working. The cashier told us to use the inserting function and input our pins. My husband declined and paid with cash.
Later, my husband explained to me in the car that their old model card reader seemed to be broken and manual fixing with clear tapes. He worried about the security of the system, so he’d rather use cash.
We’re not fond of carrying big cashes with us and always try to avoid cash only shops unless necessary. Now, good thing is that we don’t purchase much this time.
I’m surprised to see goat meat here, that too for $6/lb. Wanted to buy and try the quality.. It was so tender and tasted good. Challenge is the communication with the meat staff as they only know Spanish. I used app to translate to communicate what kind of meat I need. Also, the prices of spices are very affordable compared to other stores.
Lots of variety for reasonable prices. I always go here for Asian and Hispanic cooking ingredients, a diverse produce selection, and great butcher/ seafood counter round out the store.
This store is like a mix between asian/chinese foods and mexican foods. Really strange mix but Im obsessed with all the food they sell. Masks are required but I didnt give this place 5 stars because they didnt limit the amount of people in the store and it was crowded.
This is a Vietnamese/Asian grocery store, but they also have quite some Mexican stuff here.
I stood and waited 15 minutes because they were making fish for another guest. Waiting is not the problem, the problem is that when he is done with the fish another guest comes then he helped that customer first. I said I came first, he said he already knew but he continued to help that guest and didn't care about me. I waited another 5 minutes to see what he did. but he continued to clean up the fish for the people who came after me. I left with nothing and felt disrespected.
Nơi đây có nhiều nhà hàng bán các món ăn VN ngon , nhiều cửa hàng bán đồ ăn togo và chợ Lion bán thực phẩm cho người Châu Á,
went in on Friday everything was good untill I got to the register- the cashier was very sick. she was using a vicks vapor rub nose inhaler when I got up to the Register, her eyes were red and watery and her nose was bright red. only wearing gloves. I don't know how they let her work being so sick. terrible management I felt bad for her.
